Now in its sixth year, this family-friendly holiday drive helps clothe the women and children residents of Alameda’s Midway Shelter, their safe house, and the San Leandro Shelter with new, cozy jammies, socks, and underthings to open on Christmas Day. Bay Farm residents, Merideth and Kevin Mehlberg, host the drive on behalf of their executive career coaching company, MMI.
The Community of Harbor Bay Isle will be holding a FREE Document Shredding and E-Waste Recycling event on Saturday, October 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event will be held in the Community Center parking lot – 3195 Mecartney Road – rain or shine. Bring your confidential paper items to be collected and securely destroyed by Recall, the leader in Secure Destruction Services. 100% of all paper items will be shredded and recycled into paper products. There is a limit of three (3) banker’s style boxes per car. E-Waste items can also be recycled, free of charge.
