On August 28, the CHBIOA Board voted to support the proposed Affiliation of Alameda Hospital and Alameda Health Systems:

Resolution of the Board of The Community of Harbor Bay Island Owners Association in support of the affiliation of Alameda Hospital with the Alameda Health System

Whereas, the Community of Harbor Bay Island (CHBI) is committed to upholding the value of all properties throughout our community; and
Whereas, the health and safety of CHBI and all residents of Alameda, on a day to day basis plus in the case of a regional emergency is enhanced by continuing the operations at Alameda Hospital; and
Whereas, it is essential to retain an active acute care and emergency department at Alameda Hospital; and
Whereas, CHBI also believes that the short- and long-term viability of Alameda Hospital is at risk if it continues to operate as an independent hospital

Now, Therefore, Be it Resolved as Follows:

The Board of The Community of Harbor Bay Isle Owners Association, representing all 20 Homeowner Associations within the Community, has voted to support the affiliation of Alameda Hospital with the Alameda Health System.
